Excellence in Physics
Four South Bromsgrove High students have had their ability in Physics recognised in a national competition. The Physics Olympiad is run every year by Oxford University and the Institute of Physics. There are competitions set for students in each of the school years, 10 through to 13 with the top level and premier competition in Year 13. Four of our final year A level students finished in the top half of the 2000 students entered nationally with two of those in the top 100.
The students were presented with certificates and prizes by Headteacher Mr Smith to recognise their excellent achievements. Mr Clark, Head of Physics, said, “We have an exceptional cohort this year and with the high achieving culture we generate from year to year we are really pleased to be able to celebrate the students’ achievement. These students are set to do very well indeed and we’re waiting to hear about a couple of Oxbridge applications that will be announced in January. Fingers crossed that those are successful too.”
