South’s Languages trip to Spain

At the beginning of the month 29 students (aged 13-16) went on a trip to Seville.   Seville is a beautiful city in the Andalusia region of Spain where there are hundreds of iconic monuments within walking distance of each other. The atmosphere of the people and food make it a vibrant place to visit and to remember.

The students were very busy thoroughly enjoying themselves from taking plenty of photos as they went sightseeing to practising their Spanish with the locals. They also had a great deal of fun cooking and eating some typical Spanish cuisine!

A special highlight of the trip was the evening everyone went out to watch a live flamenco show. Students and staff were mesmerised by the passion and skill of the dancers, singers and guitarists.

Fortunately the sun shone every day, which meant plenty of ice cream or frozen yoghurt, refreshing drinks and eating authentic and delicious tapas outdoors on the high streets and squares of Seville.

All the students appreciated the time they had to wander the city as groups of friends, to explore and to go shopping. Overall, the trip was a great success with the students being a true credit to the school.
