South Bromsgrove U16 rugby team win the County Cup at Worcester RFC
Captained by Matthew Moseley, the South Bromsgrove U16 rugby team won the County Cup at Worcester RFC, beating Prince Henry’s, Evesham 71-19 in the Final.
Having beaten The Chase, Malvern in the semi-final, a close game was anticipated, but a fast start in glorious weather conditions and a half time lead of 42-12, meant the game was over as contest earlier than would have been expected.
With half of the Kings Norton club side represented, a strong core of players used to playing alongside one another made a difference and the team showed great cohesion. Tries by Moseley (3), Garwood, Bennett, Tom Woodfield (2), Knapton and supplemented by u15 centres Wills and Grace, playing ‘up’ who scored 3 tries between them, this was a great performance and South will now face the Champions of Herefordshire in a cross county clash in late March.
