Practising Spanish in las Ramblas
A group of 30 students and 3 members of staff from South Bromsgrove High School had the chance to discover Spanish and Catalonian culture on their trip to Barcelona in March. Students were able to visit the shops and typical stands around las Ramblas and enjoy the food; some even treated themselves to a churros and hot chocolate breakfast.
A visit to the Picasso Museum led the group on a walk around the gothic quarter of Barcelona on Palm Sunday, which allowed them to experience the catholic roots of the country. Despite the rain, the students enjoyed the visit to Gaudi’s pieces of art: the Sagrada familia and Park Güel, while football fans were able to walk through the stadium and changing rooms of one of the most successful teams in the world in Camp Nou. The three teachers were extremely pleased with the students as they explored the culture and communicated with the locals, surely leaving behind an excellent image of South Bromsgrove.
