Sport Relief Sponsored Football and Rounders games and Bake Sale

On Friday 23rd March, SBHS staff and students went head to head in sponsored Football and Rounders games in aid of Sport Relief. From these games, £408.99 was raised both on the Just Giving page and from the bake sale ran by Mr Law and Miss Taylor.

Boys football – students captained by Tom Bailey, staff captained Rob LawIn the Rounders game, 4 heated innings lead to students winning by half a rounder in the final seconds, much to the dismay of Miss Taylor when Miss Lodwick dropped the ball at the last post. This result has spurred on the female staff to start up their own rounders club.

The football was a close game that came down to penalties. The score was 1 – 1, but from the penalties resulted in staff victory, following several year 12 students feeling the pressure.

A real highlight of the week was seeing the staff get involved in the “walk with South” challenge which saw 22 staff represent sport relief completing a combined total of 1,843,625 steps.
