The North Worcestershire Teacher Training Hub work with accredited provider the University of Worcester to provide high quality, school centred teacher training.
Our Hub
South Bromsgrove High School leads the North Worcestershire Teacher Training Hub at Secondary level.
The North Worcestershire Teacher Training Partnership is a relatively small hub where we pride ourselves on offering individualised support for our trainees. We are proud that those who train with us are made to feel fully part of our ‘South’ team. We offer experienced subject and professional mentors who have been involved in the planning and development of the school centred teacher training course. Every trainee is assigned a Professional and Subject Mentor who they meet with regularly, to review and set targets and to support your progress. The school is proud to have gained the Carnegie Mental Health Gold Award and this exemplifies our care and support of all members of our school community. As a trainee with us you are given a laptop and a dedicated training space to work in, alongside full access to the resources and facilities we offer.
‘South’ is a good school with outstanding features (Ofsted 2023) where students enjoy learning in a way which stimulates their imagination and creativity. We maintain high standards of achievement, offer a broad and relevant curriculum, and place great emphasis on high quality learning experiences supplemented by wide-ranging extra-curricular opportunities. We work alongside partnership schools who are highly committed to the training of teachers in a school-based environment. We are a High School which will enable trainees to access GCSE and A Level teaching alongside Key Stage 3 classes.
Where we are South Bromsgrove is located close to the M5 and a short walkfrom Bromsgrove Railway station where there are direct trains to Worcester and the University. Bromsgrove is situated close to a wide number of schools enabling high numbers of job opportunities.
