Paula the Polar Bear - London Marathon
London Marathon 2026 … the day a polar bear hit £2 million for cancer charities and finally met her namesake, Paula Radcliffe.

Mrs Punt says, “The run was horrendous and magnificent all at once. The crowds were unbelievable, and with no time pressure I could high‑paw, bear‑hug and squeeze in BBC interviews all the way round…. whilst melting in my furry, furnace of a costume.”
“Thank you so, so much for all your support. £2 million means more research, more early detection, more hope for all those touched by cancer.”
£2million isn’t just a number ... it’s research funded, early detection strengthened, families supported and hope pushed forward. Thank you for helping this slightly overheated polar bear turn miles into real impact.
And now… onwards to £3 million.
