GCSE Results’ Day
South Bromsgrove High is pleased to report some outstanding achievements by its students in their GCSEs this summer, with over three quarters of students achieving a grade 4 in both English and maths. Furthermore, almost a quarter of students were awarded a grade 7, equivalent to an A grade, for their English and maths GCSEs.
Finlay Creed was awarded grade 9 in each of the nine subjects that he took, a truly outstanding achievement. Faith Taylor, Nina Rao, Jack Wright, Sophie Brailsford and Lucy Cashmore each achieved eight grade 9s. We are delighted that nearly two hundred students have chosen to continue their educational journey with South Bromsgrove in our highly successful Sixth Form.

Chris Smith, the school’s headteacher said: “We are immensely proud of all the work and achievements of our students, particularly given the disruption that they have faced in the last two years owing to the pandemic. We also recognise the support of parents and carers to students in helping them to achieve their grades. Our teachers have worked tirelessly to ensure students are all able to progress onto further education and study, and we look forward to seeing what they will achieve in the future.”
Helen McAleese, Head of Year 11 added, “I am very proud of the results achieved by our Year 11 students this year. However we must not forget all of their non exam achievements such as the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, Eisteddfod, the school play, sport, and our diverse house competition programme. I wish them all the best for the next stage of their journey.”
