GCSE Results Day 2023

GCSE Results’ Day 2023

Sean Drew (Eight grade 9s)South Bromsgrove High is pleased to report outstanding achievements by its students in their GCSEs this summer with over three quarters of students achieving a grade 4 in both English and maths, and a quarter of students accomplishing a grade 7, equivalent to an A grade, for their English or maths GCSEs.  Moreover, twelve percent of the year group achieved grades 8 and 9 in all of their subjects, which is an incredible achievement. We are delighted that nearly two hundred students have chosen to continue their educational journey with South Bromsgrove in our outstanding Sixth Form.

Chris Smith, the school’s headteacher said: “We are immensely proud of all the work and achievements of our students and we look forward to seeing what theyAgatha Pettman and Amelie Knight will achieve in the future. We are grateful for the support of parents, carers and teaching staff to students in helping them to achieve these strong outcomes. Against a national backdrop of grade reduction our students have achieved outcomes in excess of the previous 2019 cohort, with an English and Maths pass rate in line with 2022 outcomes. Our students are in a strong position to progress onto further education and study and we are delighted that we will welcome a number of these students back to our Sixth form in September.”

Lyra Csondor, Sophie Coleman and Liv HarveyMiss Clipson, Head of Year 11 added, “I am very proud of the results achieved by our Year 11 students this year. I have watched students in this year group flourish both in a classroom setting as well as on an extra curricular basis. I wish our leavers every success as they move on to the next stage of their journey. I am confident that their experience of a rainy Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, Eisteddfod, and our diverse house competition programme will remain with them for years to come.”
