Co-curricular lunchtimes
Our innovative programme of co-curricular activities involves all members of staff and is open to students from all year groups. Sixth form students support staff in leading and facilitating the half hour sessions which take place during our extended lunch period.
This initiative draws inspiration from successful co-curricular models at leading independent schools, where students benefit from a rich array of clubs and societies that foster leadership, resilience, and lifelong passions.
We believe this programme will enhance student engagement, support personal development, and contribute positively to attendance and behaviour. It also provides opportunities for Sixth Form students to volunteer and lead, further enriching our school community.
A huge range of activities, sports and clubs is available, so there is something for everyone. Students in Years 9, 10 and 11 are expected and encouraged to participate in three activities every week, and the commitment is to attend for a term. Where there is space, students are welcome to sign up for more than three activities. Students sign up for these activities on SOCS.
